Main goal to Rx is to prevent immunologic (rheumatic) complications of Beta hemolytic streptococci + local extension

*Triad for strep pharyngitis- fever, pharyngeal +tonsillar exudates + tender cervical LN

Rapid detection  of Beta  hemolytic strep can be easily achieved using a test that costs me ~ $2.50 in the office = latex agglutination

*Hoarseness +drooling = epiglottitis

Splenomegaly in young pt with pharyngitis=infectious mononucleosis

Drug for preventing attack of heredity angioedema=danazol (andro)
