Recognize the indication for antibiotic prophylaxis for bacterial endocarditis.

Explanation:

prophylaxis not recommended for ASD,repaired ASD or VSD,PDA after 6 months, MVP without regurgitation ,pacemakers/defibrillators.

Procedures where prophylaxis is not recommended are filling dental cavities with local anaesthetic ,orthodontic removal,tracheal intubation,flexible bronchoscopy,tee,vaginal hysterectomy ,any delivery-cesarean or vaginal,Foley ,d and c, IUD insert or remove, circumcision or coronary stent.

Recommended for dental cleaning.

Procedures where it is recommended will be covered in other pages but must remember that it is recommended for HOCM (IHSS/ASH)
