Raccoon's sign

What is this associated with?

Anterior cranial fossa fractures and CSF rhinorrhea. Patients with CSF rhinorrhea should get prophylactic broad spectrum antibiotics - Amoxicillin for example. If not prophylaxed there is a high chance for raging intracranial infections. A question that is likely to be asked is to differentiate plain bleeding from CSF rhinorrhea mixed with blood. This is done using the blotting paper test where few drops of the fluid are placed. If CSF is present then it makes a clear ring around the blood.
