Prostate cancer in different stages

Explanation

Prostate cancer generally has a good prognosis. Among elderly patients it is usually not the cause of their death. Before it becomes severe enough to kill, some other illness gets the patient. It does cause morbidity.

Staging is important for treatment. Stages A & B are limited to the prostate and are treated with radical surgery or XRT.
Once beyond the prostate - it is treated with hormonal intervention (Flutamide/LHRH analogue Leuprolide/Lupron).
