Cannabis or marijuana are derived from the Indian Hemp plant. The main class of drugs in them are Cannabinoids. These are mood altering agents and can be detected using a Urine Drug Screen which tests for THC (Tetra-hydro-cannabinol). Dependence on these drugs is a definite entity but the extent of this is debatable.

47% of students try marijuana during their lifetime.
Male students (50.7%) are significantly more likely than female students (42.9%) to have ever used marijuana.

Cannabis promotes high risk behavior because of impaired judgment and the circumstances/company it is shared/used in.

Treatment programs focus on counseling and group support systems. There are no drugs that focus on Marijuana/Cannabis dependence.
