Know the EKG abnormalities associated with different electrolyte abnormalities

Explanation:

We are all familiar with the EKG changes in different electrolyte abnormalities but because they are rarely found enlisted on a single page, we tend to forget them or get confused with them.

Electrolyte abnormality

EKG findings

Hyperkalemia Tall & narrow (peaked) T waves, loss of P waves & soon after, there is QRS widening
Hypokalemia (Pseudo) QT prolongation by way of losing T wave & U wave becoming prominent.
Hypomagnesemia Same as hypokalemia
Hypercalcemia QT shortening (I guess because more calcium exists, the electrical events can take place quickly).
Hypocalcemia QT prolongation.
